The Difference Between Discernment And Judgment

The Difference Between Discernment And Judgment

Watch this excerpt of the broadcast of Life in the Faith Lane on August 16, 2023, where Annamarie Strawhand addressed the following question from a viewer and read the notes that follow.

Question: What is the difference between discernment and judgment?

TEACHING NOTES

Judgment is when you judge something and bring a verdict on it.

Discernment is when you bring understanding.

They are two different things but have sometimes been used as the same.

Discernment is when you have complete and total understanding and clarity of something.

You go to the Lord for discernment to have complete understanding, clarity, and revelation.

If you have to judge something, a verdict must come and be carried out, so there’s a big difference between the two!

If you’re going to bring judgment on something, you better make sure you have discernment first.

If you’re looking at someone and saying they ARE something, then you’re judging them. You’ve come to a verdict about them, and you carry our that verdict by saying, “You better ___.”

Discernment is when you say, “Hmm, I’m discerning and getting clarity on what’s going on with that person, and I’m going to pray for them so they don’t suffer judgment from the Lord.”

We are supposed to judge righteously, and that’s why we MUST have good discernment.

We have to be careful not to falsely accuse people because when you accuse them it means you’re bringing judgment, and God hates false accusations.

There are sins that God hates — gossip, slanderous mouth, and false accusations — because they are judgments.

Satan means accuser in Hebrew!

You must have good discernment and seek the Lord first, according to Jeremiah 33:3.

Discernment and judgment must go together!

As Christians, if we are going to judge, we are to judge righteously.

So before judging, we ask for discernment on the matter (Jeremiah 33:3) and wait for the Lord to give us clarity and confirmation that something is evil. Then we can judge righteously on the situation and bring our verdict on the situation, but we must do this with the partnership of THE RIGHTEOUS ONE — JESUS CHRIST.

Steps For Righteous Judgment

  1. Pray for discernment, understanding, and clarity
  2. Get confirmation from the Lord of exactly what’s going on
  3. Then you can judge righteously and come to a verdict on something, and then you can say, “Look, this is what’s going on. I want to judge righteously. I don’t want to falsely accuse them. I’m going to pray that they don’t suffer God’s judgment and that they come to their knees in repentance, a free gift for everyone.”
  4. Make sure all of your sins are repented for and covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, lest you be judged
  5. You can also go into the Courts of Heaven and ask for a judgment from God through the blood of Jesus.

When you ask for a judgment from God in the Courts of Heaven, it will be carried out on your behalf by the authority of Jesus Christ, the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and by the angels of the Lord. God gives you a verdict, and He always judges in your favor if you repent and ask for the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus will always give you a judgment verdict from God in your favor!

When you stand in the gap and repent for somebody, ask Father God to move them from the Courtroom of Judgment to the Throne of Grace and Mercy and for the blood of Jesus Christ to speak for them until He brings them to repentance.

When you do this, you’re asking for a reprieve for that person. You’re interceding for them because you’re a king and a priest. Priests make intercession for others before God through King Jesus. Kings make commands and carry out decrees.

If you discern that there are bad influences around your family members or others, you can also pray the Ax of God’s Judgment Prayer to remove them. This is a safe way to pray because you aren’t judging. You are discerning that there are influences that do not bear the good fruits of the Holy Spirit, and you are asking God to remove them. You won’t be judged for judging others. God does the judgment!

Discernment is the most important thing you can have!

Prophetic Word For America – The Sound Of The Millstone

Prophetic Word For America – The Sound Of The Millstone

This is a wonderful prophetic biblical teaching that Annamarie Strawhand presented on her broadcast of Life in the Faith Lane on July 31, 2023. Be encouraged by what the Lord is showing us that is coming to America and to us individually!

Watch the video teaching below, and follow up by reading the notes provided, proclaiming the scripture, and watching the short videos that were a part of this teaching.

Notes: The Sound Of The Millstone And The Voice Of The Bridegroom And The Voice Of The Bride

Based on these scriptures: Jeremiah 25:10-12 and Jeremiah 33:11,12

Punishment For Sin And Non Repentance

Jeremiah 25:10-12 KJV

10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth (laughter, dancing, amusement), and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

Restoration Of Blessing For Forgiveness Of Sins – Repentant Nation – Now We Have The Branch – Jesus Christ – Bridegroom And Bride – The Church

Jeremiah 33:10-15 KJV

10 Thus saith the Lord; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast, 11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord. 12 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down. 13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the Lord. 14 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. 15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

When The Millstones Are Working There Is Still God’s Prosperity And Blessing In The Land

The sound of the millstone means blessing and prosperity

The voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride

These Pictures Are Of The Very First House Mike’s Grandparents Moved Into When They First Got Married In 1930s

There used to be a mill near there. Soon after they were married, they got offered the store. They prospered it by faith and bought their dream house that we now live in.

They started in that house, so god is teaching us something. I was wondering what that millstone meant out front of that house.

I Thought It Meant Something Bad And I Went To The Lord And Asked Him If The Millstone Meant Something Good

He showed me, YES IT CAN MEAN SOMETHING GOOD!

Then He said, “THE SOUND OF THE MILLSTONE IS STILL UPON AMERICA!”

George Washington’s mill at Mount Vernon is still operational and running daily!

I WAS AMAZED!

IT’S A SOUND!

FREEDOM HAS A SOUND

PROSPERITY HAS A SOUND

Listen to the sound of George Washington’s Gristmill in this YouTube video.

The Millstone is still sounding in this Nation!

Now, we know that there is also a scripture (Matthew 18:6)  that says that those who hurt the children will be punished by hanging a millstone from their neck and drowning them at sea.

I realized it means that not only will they be punished by death but all their prosperity will be stripped from them too. their sound will be GONE! Their means of making money will sink with them.

I knew that millstone near Granny and Papa’s first house when they got married must have had a good meaning because they loved and served the Lord faithfully all their lives.

I knew there were mills around there because, if a mill is torn down, the millstone remains because it’s so heavy. They are hard to move.

There is a road near there called Mill Landing Road. That road is Nanneys Creek Rd. These mills were water powered.

The house was yellow and was one room — a one-room house. Papa had two pairs of pants, one for work and one for church. Granny washed his work pants every night and put them on the back of the chair to dry for him to put on clean pants in the morning. They were a Proverbs 31:10 couple!

So when I went by there yesterday on our truck ride, I asked Mike about the house again and the millstone. He said they did not stay there too long it was their newlywed house. Then they got the store and God prospered them.

They bought the house we are in with cash — 160,000 in cash in a brown bag!

They never spent a day apart. It’s an amazing story of marriage.

Listen to this Jewish wedding song: Od Yishama (There Will Be Heard) by Shlomo Katz

THERE WILL BE HEARD – THE VOICE OF THE BRIDEGROOM AND THE VOICE OF THE BRIDE

THE SOUND OF THE MILLSTONE

THE JOY OF THE LORD

This is THE HOPE the Lord is giving us right now

The women in Israel also had small millstones to grind flour, and they had the bigger mills. The sound was steady all the time and comforted the people.

So I listened to the sound of the mill running at George Washington’s Mount Vernon with my eyes closed, just listening.

There is a blessing on this nation that cannot be stopped! It is ordained by God.

I AM RELEASING THIS AS A WORD FOR NOW AND OUR FUTURE

WE GOT CONFIRMATION ON THE PROVERBS 31 WORD OVER THE WEEKEND AND NOW THIS WORD

Prayer and Teaching: The Little-By-Little Biblical Principle – How To Receive Your Suddenly

Prayer and Teaching: The Little-By-Little Biblical Principle – How To Receive Your Suddenly

This is a powerful teaching on how to stay in faith when things aren’t progressing as fast as you’d like in a certain area of your life. It’s important to trust God in the process and remember that He’s not delaying things, He’s arranging things!

Watch the video teaching below, and follow up by reading the scripture references, praying the two prayers, taking the self-evaluation, and making the bold, faith-filled declaration all designed to help you learn to increase your capacity to understand God’s plan and timing and how to partner with Him as you go through the little-by-little times and patiently wait for your SUDDENLY!

What is the BIBLICAL little-by-little principle?

But little by little, in due time, by the power of God, the children of Israel would defeat their enemies and possess the promised land. The “little by little” principle states that some things take more time than other things depending on your capacity to handle them or receive them.

Scripture References

Exodus 23:30

Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

Deuteronomy 7

20 Moreover, the LORD your God will send the hornet among them until even the survivors who hide from you have perished.

21 Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.

22 The LORD your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.

23 But the LORD your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed.

24 He will give their kings into your hand, and you will wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand up against you; you will destroy them.

When you have to wait a “little” while to see justice against the wicked:

Psalm 37:10

Do Not Envy Those who Do Wrong

9For the evildoers will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. 10Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. 11But the meek will inherit the land and delight in abundant prosperity.…

When you are suffering or struggling in the “little” time of waiting:

1 Peter 5:10

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.

Where in the Bible does it say “little” becomes much?

Exodus 4:2

For Moses it was a rod, for Samson the jawbone of a donkey, for David a sling – for a small boy his lunch. Whatever it is – little becomes much when you place it in the Master’s hands.

God expects you to take the “little” He gives you and manage it and multiply in faith and good stewardship (honesty and integrity) in an effort to show God He can trust you with more.

Luke 16:10

The Parable of the Shrewd Manager

9I tell you, use worldly wealth to make friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, they will welcome you into eternal dwellings. 10Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches?…

Matthew 25:21

His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’

Luke 19:17

His master replied, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, you shall have authority over ten cities.’

WILL GOD ALSO MOVE SUDDENLY? YES!!!

Isaiah 29:5

“But suddenly, your ruthless enemies will be crushed like the finest of dust. Your many attackers will be driven away like chaff before the wind. Suddenly, in an instant,

Acts 2:2

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Luke 2:13-14

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill  toward men!”

Acts 16:26

Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Proverbs 3:25

You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked,

Acts 9:3-4

As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. 4He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

Prayer Strategies

Prayer To Increase Your Capacity To Understand What The Lord Is Doing And To Receive Your Suddenly:
“Lord, I ask you to show me what you’re doing little by little and increase my capacity to understand it. How can I help accelerate this? How should I be praying? How can I be more faithful? How can I come to a greater capacity to be able to receive this? What can I do in my home to prepare my household to be able to receive it? How can I pray for and speak into my spouse, my child, my nation, or _______ situation? How do I prepare my ministry? How do I help get the people ready to receive it? How should I be partnering with your Holy Spirit to prepare the capacity? Lord, I want to get stronger. I want to be bolder. I want to be prepared when it’s time to take the promise!”

“Holy Spirit my helper, I ask in Jesus name that you to go to _______, and increase their capacity, Holy Spirit. Give them more understanding, and even though they’re not able to handle it all at once, increase the trickle to them, Holy Spirit. Give them more of the little-by-little, in Jesus’ name, amen!”

How To Pray When You Are Frustrated In The Waiting:
“Father God, forgive me for my frustration. I know you can do much with little. I know you have a plan for this person/situation _______, and I put them/it into your hands. What can you do with this person/situation _______, Lord? I’m in expectation of Your glory, and I will be obedient to do my part, in Jesus’ name, amen.”

Self Evaluation:

  1. How has God been moving little by little in your life?
  2. Are you increasing your capacity to receive the suddenly?
  3. How is your capacity increasing?
  4. What are you doing with the little that God is giving you?
  5. Are you being faithful with it?

Declaration:

Declare Out Loud:
“I declare that my capacity to receive from the Lord is being expanded swiftly, and quickly, and that I receive more faith, more boldness, more understanding, more anointing of the Holy Spirit. I open up my arms to receive. Lord, increase my capacity to receive, in Jesus’ name!”
