In Memory Of Mr. Greg Worley – A Cowboy Who Loved the Lord

In Memory Of Mr. Greg Worley – A Cowboy Who Loved the Lord

I heard that a very good man passed away the other day. Greg Worley of Greg Worley Horse Training – I had a short time working with him, as he came to us through a good friend last summer to work with our rescue horse, Pongo Picasso. Greg was a champion bull rider who’s body had taken a beating over the years. He was amazing with horses. It was a learning experience for us, as he got my daughter to sit on Pongo’s back for the very first time. It was a huge breakthrough for all of us. The time Greg spent with the horse was impactful – but the biggest impact that has stuck with me is Greg’s love for the Word of God and his passion to bring people to Jesus Christ. In his old cowboy way, he simplified the Gospel and he truly was called to preach. He would say; “give me some time in the round pen with anyone and their horse, and I will win them for Jesus.”

Greg Worley lived an amazing life, and at the end – although his body was broken down – he loved the Lord God with all his heart.  He is in Heaven now with Jesus. I know the bible says we earn a crown – but I think Jesus has a beautiful shiny belt buckle for this special cowboy. God Speed Mr. Greg Worley, may your memory be a blessing. Thank you for taking the time with us and being a part of Pongo’s story.  We will never forget you. (Pictured, Greg and Pongo in the round pen – earning trust, Sept 2017) – Annamarie
